Grianan of Aileach is an ancient stone fort located near the Inishowen Peninsula in County Donegal, Ireland. The structure dates all the way back to 1700BC and is said to be the traditional seat of the rulers of the northern region of the island of Ireland. It has three concentric layers of dry stone walls enclosing within it a grassy plateau, and stands 170ft above sea level on an isolated hilltop with stunning views of the surrounding landscape. It is a popular tourist destination and photographers flock to it to capture its spectacular views. The fort also holds religious and mythical significance to this day, making it a site of spiritual importance. Not to be missed if you're in the area!
