The Grande Mosquée d'Alger, in the bustling Casbah district of Algeria, is a must-see for anyone visiting the city. Built in the year 944, its breathtaking domes, red and yellow minarets, and spectacular architectural design make it a stunning work of art. This incredible mosque carries with it centuries of history. It was once the most important mosque in this part of the Mediterranean and its cloisters were the site of many a heated dialogue between friends and foes alike. In the main hall, two large columns carved in white stone still exist to mark the spot where the Imam once stood. From here, one can also take in the grand view of Ali la Pointe square and its lively atmosphere.

Square Port Saïd also lies within the ancient walls of the Casbah district and is a focal point of the local villages. Sitting at the edge of the square, one can observe the hustle and bustle of the alleyways and streets that make up daily life. It's a perfect way to get a sense of the vibrant culture and hospitality of the Algerian people. This spot also offers a great vantage point of the local architecture for photographers. While here, take a minute to notice the Royal Mausoleum built in 1969, with its imposing size and elaborate engravings from the same era.
