Gran Pirámide de Uxmal is a Mesoamerican step pyramid located in the Archaeological Site of Uxmal, Mexico. This late-terminal classic-period structure stands at 35 meters tall and is the dominant structure amongst the Pyramid of the Magician Complex. The pyramid was used as a platform for worship of the ancient Maya gods. The structure is built with limestone blocks and has carved facades and a temple at the top of the steps, along with a system of ramps and stairs. It is thought to be the tallest building in the pre-Colombian region. Visitors can scale the pyramid's edges, visit the previous temple, and get an excellent view of the archaeological zone. With its geometrical pyramidal design and precise stonework, Gran Pirámide de Uxmal is a must-see for history lovers.
