The Gran Pirámide de Cholula, located in Cholula, Mexico, is an ancient Mesoamerican archeological site. Built between the 1st century BCE and 7th century CE, it is the world's largest Pre-Columbian pyramid. Despite being completely covered by dirt and vegetation, the Gran Pirámide de Cholula still stands tall at over 188 feet. Its four main staircases, along with other smaller staircases, are still in good condition. The site was named a National Monument in 1936 and visitors can traverse it and get stunning views of the surrounding mountains as well as small towns nearby. Its significance stretches way past its impressive height, as Cholula was an important religious, political, and cultural center.
