Gorbals Bridge, located in Glasgow City, United Kingdom, is a modern footbridge in the center of the city. It is home to the Glasgow Science Centre and many historical buildings and attractions. The bridge, opened in 2001, was designed by advanced engineering firm Gifford and designed by WMUD Architects. The bridge was designed to provide enhanced access to Glasgow City Centre's west end. The bridge spans 232m with a pair of elegant steel arches, and is the largest single span bridge in Scotland. The bridge provides access to the Glasgow Necropolis as well as the Glasgow Museum of Modern Art, the Gallery of Modern Art and other major attractions. On the bridge, travelers and photographers can take in the views of the River Clyde, Glasgow skyline and distant hills. The views are complemented by the contemporary lighting design, with curved LED lighting creating a gorgeous atmosphere. Gorbals Bridge is a great place to explore, with plenty of attractions and activities nearby. From here, visitors can also enjoy a leisurely riverside stroll or explore the vibrant city life.
