Golden Gate Bridge
📍 From Battery Spencer, United States
The famed Golden Gate Bridge spans the 2.7 mile-wide entrance to the San Francisco Bay. It marks the start of the Pacific Coast Highway and links San Francisco to Marin County. The 2,700-foot-long suspension bridge has been a popular destination for sightseers, photographers, and pedestrians since it's opening in 1937. The bridge is made of steel and painted in red, white, and orange, and has become a symbol of San Francisco. Visitors can admire the bridge from various lookout points on either side, including Vista Point in Marin County, Battery Spencer in the Marin Headlands, and Crissy Field in San Francisco. For a spectacular view of the entire bridge, visitors should head up to the Marin Headlands. For a great sunset view in San Francisco, the best spots are either underneath the bridge or a nearby beach.
