Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape is a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its ancient petroglyphs, or rock carvings, dating back to the Upper Paleolithic era. These carvings depict scenes of daily life, rituals, and animals, and are a fascinating glimpse into the region's history. The site also includes mud volcanoes, which are unique geological formations and a popular attraction for photography. Entrance fees are around $13 USD, and visitors can take a guided tour or explore on their own. The site is located about 64 km southwest of Baku and can be reached by car or public transportation. It is recommended to visit during the cooler months of September through May. Visitors should bring plenty of water and wear comfortable shoes, as the site consists of rugged terrain. It is also advisable to bring a camera with a wide-angle lens to capture the stunning landscape and intricate petroglyphs.
