Goat Pond is a small reservoir in Kananaskis Country, near Canmore along the Smith-Dorrien/Spray Trail. Its mountain setting can make the engineered shoreline easy to overlook: forested slopes rise toward rocky peaks, and on calm days the water reflects both ridgelines and sky. Changes in water level reveal stretches of stony shore, giving the scene a different shape from one visit to the next.
