The Glasgow City Chambers, located in Glasgow City, United Kingdom, is the home of the City of Glasgow's local government. Built between 1882 and 1888 in the Second Renaissance Revival style, the Chambers attract visitors with its ornate high-ceiling entrance, carvings of historical figures, stained-glass windows and inlaid mosaic floors. The interior is luxuriously appointed with foliage, ceilings and stone carvings. Visitors can take in the grandeur of the Chambers lobby, as well as view the Council Chamber and surrounding offices where Scotland's local government is managed. Tours of the Chambers are available by appointment. Most of the furnishings and artwork within the building are from the Victorian period, making a visit to the Chambers a unique and interesting experience for those interested in local and national history.
