Gladstone's Library is a beautiful brick building in Hawarden, UK, first built in 1889. The building was erected by author and statesman William E. Gladstone, as a reward to his constituency in Flintshire. It has been designated a National Monument, and is the largest residential library in Europe. Inside the Library, you’ll find over 150,000 books and manuscripts, including some once owned by Gladstone himself. The Library regularly hosts exhibition, events and lectures, and visitors can join guided tours for a more in-depth look at this grand Library. The Gladstone’s Parlour café is also available from the Library, offering homely atmosphere and delicious refreshments.
