Giant Wild Goose Pagoda
📍 China
Constructed in 652 AD during the Tang Dynasty, the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda stands in the Da Ci’en Temple complex in southern Xi'an. This 64-meter tall, seven-story pagoda is renowned for housing Buddhist scriptures brought from India by the monk Xuanzang. Photo-travelers should make their visit during the late afternoon when the sunlight casts a warm glow on the pagoda’s brick structure. Climbing to the top offers panoramic views of the city and surrounding temple grounds. Be aware that the area can get crowded, especially during holidays. Capture the intricate carvings and Buddha statues inside the pagoda, and don’t miss the nightly musical fountain show in the adjacent square, which provides an immersive visual experience.
