📍 From Marina Bay Sands SkyPark, Singapore
Gardens by the Bay is a waterfront garden complex on reclaimed land beside Marina Reservoir, where Singapore’s dense urban skyline meets an ambitious landscape of horticulture and environmental engineering. It embodies the city’s “City in a Garden” vision, with the Supertrees as its most recognizable feature: towering steel structures clothed in orchids, ferns and climbing plants, some incorporating solar panels. Two vast glass conservatories shelter contrasting environments: the Flower Dome showcases plants from Mediterranean and other seasonally dry climates, while Cloud Forest encloses a planted mountain and an indoor waterfall. In the Supertree Grove, branching canopies form a distinctive silhouette against Marina Bay Sands; along the waterfront, the conservatories’ curved glass roofs offer a different sense of scale and geometry. After dark, the recurring Garden Rhapsody light-and-music show transforms the grove into an illuminated landscape.
