
Galleria Palazzo Medici Riccardi is a museum located in the historical centre of Florence, Italy. It is a recreation of the studios of Renaissance artists and scholars. The Palazzo Riccardi was built in the late 15th century by the famous artist Michelangelo and was refurbished in the mid 16th century. From the 17th century onwards, the palazzo was the headquarters of the influential House of Medici. The museum features works by artists such as Botticelli, Rousseau and Ghirlandaio. Inside the museum, visitors can admire rare and exquisite ancient pieces such as frescoes, canvases, furniture and sculptures. There is also a video room and a library with over 5000 old manuscripts related to the Renaissance period. Guided tours by appointment are available for the visitors.
