Galiano Island is a beautiful, natural paradise located in the Gulf Islands of British Columbia, Canada. With an area of just over 100 square kilometers, it offers a stunning landscape of grassy banks, cliffs, rolling hills and coves, with stunning views of the Strait of Georgia and the mainland mountains beyond.
It's an area of great natural beauty, with amazing wildlife, including bald eagles, seals, deer, orcas and porpoises, plus plenty of activities like whale watching, kayaking, and beach combing. Galiano Island is a great place for anyone who loves the outdoors to enjoy. You can hike the several trails that meander through the woods, or take time exploring the lovely bays and beaches. You can also find some excellent fishing opportunities and if boating is your thing, you will find some incredible views and a quiet, peaceful ambiance. Exploring Galiano Island is best done by bike, but rental cars are available on island. There are bus routes, especially during the summer season, but it's a small island and walking is usually the way to go. There are plenty of pubs and restaurants to enjoy traditional fare and local seafood, and even a general store for most of your needs. With its weathered rocky coastline, lush forested hillsides, marine life, serene coves and stunning views out across the Strait of Georgia, Galiano Island is a magical place that should be on everyone’s must-visit list.
