The Galata Kulesi, also known as the Galata Tower, stands nearly 70 meters (230 feet) tall in Bereketzade, Istanbul. Located on the southern side of the Golden Horn and near the Turkish city of Istanbul, the Tower was built as a prison during the 7th century and is considered a holy site for the Romani. For centuries, it has been a famous landmark that continues to defy time.

The Tower has seven storeys and one conical roof that overlooks the Galata district. It's open to the public and can be ascended, offering magnificent views of the city of Istanbul, the Bosporus and the Sea of Marmara. Don't miss the restaurant on the top, where you can get an exclusive panoramic view of the whole city. After taking some pictures, you could take a stroll around the tower to admire the other historical buildings in the area and photograph the juxtaposition of the old and the new. A few minutes away, you will find the historical quarter of Bereketzade. At the SouthEast side of the Tower lies a market filled with street vendors and quaint taverns, famous for its delicious food. This is a great spot to soak up the buzzing atmosphere and explore the narrow and windy cobblestone streets up the hill. Here, you'll find shops and cafes full of locals ready to greet you with a smile. Enjoy the vibrant energy of the area and don't forget to bring back some of the delicious Turkish sweets!
