Fushimi Inari Taisha is a Shinto Shrine known as the head shrine of the god Inari and is located in Kyoto, Japan. It is renowned for its thousands of vermillion torii gates, which line a 4km hiking trail up to the top of the mountain. The shrine complex also encompasses multiple smaller shrines, temples, and sculptures scattered throughout. Visitors are able to experience traditional Japanese culture up close, including offerings and ceremonies at the shrine's alter. The highlight of a visit is walking the path that winds up the mountain, where visitors can experience over a thousand beautiful Torii gates lined on either side of the path. There are many vending machines located throughout the path and a few tea houses and restaurants along the way.
