Fushimi Inari is an important Shinto shrine in Kyoto, Japan, with thousands of gates called torii. It is dedicated to the gods of sake and industry, as evidenced by the many sake barrels that adorn the shrine. It is known for its winding paths and thousands of torii gates that cover the 4 kilometre trail up to the summit of the mountain. The shrine plays an important role in business affairs, and as such, it is one of the most visited shrines in Japan. It is also a popular tourist destination, where visitors can admire the beautiful scenery and views of the city below. The grounds of the shrine also boast two tea houses, a gift shop, a museum and several restaurants. The main temple complex and its buildings add to the shrine’s charm, and visitors can also explore the nearby Takemizudo Shrine.
