Fuente de los Coyotes
📍 From Jardín Centenario, Mexico
Fuente de los Coyotes stands in Jardín Centenario, beside Plaza Hidalgo in the historic center of Coyoacán. Its pair of bronze coyotes refers to the district’s Nahuatl name, commonly interpreted as “place of coyotes,” and has become one of the neighborhood’s most recognizable symbols. Water, dark metal figures, and the circular basin create reflections and strong silhouettes beneath the garden’s mature trees, while the surrounding benches, vendors, musicians, and pedestrians place the monument within Coyoacán’s lively everyday rhythm. Colonial-era façades and the domes of the nearby San Juan Bautista church add depth to wider views of the fountain.
