Frýdlant’s town hall stands on náměstí T. G. Masaryka, the main square of this northern Bohemian town near the Polish border. Built in the late 19th century, the Neo-Renaissance building was designed by Viennese architect Franz Neumann, who also designed Liberec’s town hall. Its tall clock tower, decorative gables and richly ornamented façade give the square a distinctly ceremonial focal point. The steep roofline and intricate architectural details create a layered silhouette above the surrounding historic houses. Wider views across the square reveal the contrast between the town hall’s imposing civic scale and the smaller proportions of the neighbouring buildings.
