📍 From Gandarmenmarkt, Germany
The French Cathedral, located in Berlin, Germany, is a beautiful neo-Romanesque building. It was built to honour citizens of the Kingdom of Prussia who had died in the Napoleonic Wars. The cathedral is a stunning example of neo-Romanesque architecture – the interior is adorned with marble columns, elaborate stained glass windows and marble statues. Despite its impressive size, the building stands out for its intricate details, with intricate carvings of animals, biblical figures and angels. Its grand dome is an impressive sight from the inside as well as from the outside. Visitors can also admire its peaceful courtyard, taking in the quiet atmosphere of this impressive building. Not far away, the German Resistance Memorial Centre is also worth a visit to learn more about this incredible country's history.
