
Fredriksberg Fort is located in Bergenhus, Norway, overlooking the city of Bergen. It is one of the most impressive fortifications that still stands in Norway today. Built in 1627–28 by King Christian IV, the fort has defended the city for centuries and has played an important role in Norway's history. It is possible to visit the Fredriksberg Fort today by means of guided tours, which are conducted in both Norwegian and English. On the tour, visitors gain insight into the construction and history of the fort, as well as being able to explore the inner fortifications. There is also a fantastic view of the city of Bergen and its surroundings from the fort. The fort itself as well as the little park around it is worth a visit if you are in Bergen.
