Frankfurt

Frankfurt, or Frankfurt am Main, is a large metropolitan city situated in Germany. It forms an extensive financial district, known as Bankenviertel, which is home to many corporate headquarters and major banks. Among the highlights of Frankfurt is the historic Römerberg, an old town square that is surrounded by a number of medieval edifices. Also worth visiting is the Old Opera House, or Alte Oper, with its grand architecture, and the Frankfurt Cathedral, located on the Römerberg. Near the riverside, you can take a stroll around the Museumsufer, where several renowned museums are located, such as the Städel, which houses masterpieces from 600 years of European art. Don't forget to explore one of the city's many green spaces and visit its Zoo, one of the oldest zoos in Germany and home to more than 4,500 animals. Finally, for some amazing views across the city, make sure you visit the Palmengarten, a botanical garden that is over 150 years old.
