The Francis Scott Key Monument is an impressive bronze fountain located in the heart of San Francisco. It was created in 1925 to honor American lawyer and poet, Francis Scott Key. It stands out as an example of classical public monuments from the 1920s and is situated on a slope of Rincon Hill, just below Telegraph Hill. The monument consists of a bronze statue of Key surrounded by other four statues depicting four ladies, along with a water basin that is inscribed with Key’s poem “The Defense of Fort M’Henry”. The fountain is a popular photo spot, especially served by its excellent vantage point atop a hill, which provides stunning views of San Francisco's skyline.
