Foss Waterfall is located in the South of Iceland near Kirkjubæjarklaustur. It is a beautiful waterfall that lies in the Olfusa River between the magnificent Landmannalaugar and the picturesque black sand desert of Sólheimasandur. The waterfall has been featured in several movies and is one of the most iconic waterfalls in Iceland.

At Foss waterfall, visitors can admire the 40-meter section of the waterfall cascading down into a large pool of deep turquoise water. The view of the waterfall is particularly stunning when the sun is high in the sky, and the top of the waterfall looks almost like a small rainbow. On the left side of the waterfall, visitors can admire the basin of the Fossárvirkjun hydroelectric power station. The surroundings of Foss Waterfall are also quite beautiful, with several impressive hiking trails through the volcanic landscape. To get to the waterfall, take Route 206 until you reach RV224, which takes you to the parking lot of the power station. There you can follow Laugavegur trail to the left of the waterfall until you reach a wooden platform from where you can capture a stunning view of the waterfall.
