Fort Worden is a historical park in the picturesque city of Port Townsend, Washington. The fort was built in 1902 to protect the Puget Sound region with its artillery batteries. At Fort Worden, visitors will find two miles of shoreline, beaches and trails, a lighthouse, and two museums. Visitors may also explore the parade ground, the military buildings, and the Officers' Row, where a military wedding took place in 1912. There are plenty of water activities to enjoy as well as hiking and biking trails. Campsites are available for visitors who want to stay overnight. There are also plenty of activities for kids such as the tide pools, natural playground and the interactive "Discovery Chamber". At Fort Worden, visitors will step back in time and explore this unique piece of history.
