Fort St. Angelo is an ancient structure located in the city of Birgu, Malta. Built by the Order of St. John in the 16th century, it has served as a military stronghold, naval base, and prison over the centuries. It is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a popular tourist destination, with spectacular views of the harbor and city skyline. Visitors can explore its massive fortifications, which include eight bastions, a watchtower, and subterranean passages. Most of the grounds are accessible to the public, although some areas are kept off-limits.
