Fonte da Manga
📍 Portugal
Fonte da Manga is a two-tiered fountain located in Coimbra, Portugal. It was commissioned by king Pedro V and inaugurated in 1875. It stands within the grounds of the city's Municipal Park, between the Aviz Gardens and Rua Visconde da Huelva. It is a popular spot for a break while strolling around the gardens, and the backdrop for summertime start-of-the-year concerts given by the local fado community. The second tier is decorated with eight busts of kings and eight symbolic figures, adorned by finely carved shields and metal rods. The fountain has been a declared National Monument since 1910.
