Fontanna Neptuna
📍 Poland
Fontanna Neptuna, the Neptune Fountain, stands on Poznań’s Old Market Square (Stary Rynek), surrounded by historic merchant houses and near the Renaissance Town Hall. It is one of four fountains on the square depicting figures from classical mythology. The bronze Neptune, recognizable by his trident, represents the Roman god of the sea. This modern fountain continues a tradition rooted in the square’s earlier role as a marketplace, where fountains also supplied water. Its dark bronze figure and stone basin contrast with the colorful façades, creating a distinctive foreground for photographs of the old town’s architecture.
