
Fontana del Nettuno is a beautiful fountain found in Florence, Italy, located in Piazza della Signoria. It is a masterpiece of 16th century Florentine sculpture and engineering. The fountain was constructed by Bartolomeo Ammanati between 1563 and 1565 and features Neptune, the Roman god of water and the sea surrounded by several putti figures and sea horses. Its large statues are made of white marble and are set in a rectangular pool of water fed by two cisterns on the top of the Palazzo Vecchio, the town hall of Florence. The fountain is a popular tourist attraction and a key part of Florence's art and architecture.
