Flüelen

Flüelen is a small municipality located at the riverside of the Vierwaldstättersee (Lake Lucerne) in the canton of Uri in Switzerland. It is known for its medieval old town and picturesque views of the lake surrounded by mountains. There are a few attractions by the lakefront, such as the pilgrimage church Madonna del Sasso, the port with excursions boats, and the historic Hotel Gotthard. The old town features charming houses, including the pre-Romanesque Kornhaus and the early 15th-century Sankt-Viktor-Kirche. Just outside of the village are the impressive three-tiered Tieftobel bridge, over the river Reuss. Finally, the hiking trails passing through the historic Gotthard Pass route provides fantastic views of the lake and plenty of great photo opportunities.
