Flatford Mill is located in East Bergholt in the County of Suffolk, United Kingdom. It is an area of Suffolk located within National Trust's Dedham Vale. According to Wordsworth, "The scenes amongst which the poet's lot is cast". The area is a photographer's paradise as its tranquil beauty attracts a stream of tourists and photographers for its stunning landscapes. Flatford Mill was popularized by John Constable's works in the early 1800s and is one of England’s best-known rural landscapes. It is visited for its picturesque views, the 16th century timber-framed mill house and the River Stour which flows through the area. Boats line the riverbanks so visitors can take a boat ride to explore the area up close. Birdwatchers flock to Flatford in the early morning for a spot of bird watching and there are many paths and tracks perfect for a stroll amidst nature. There’s also an exhibition centre, The Flatford Story, which shows visitors the life of the area as Constable and his family knew it.
