Flamingo Lagoon at Walvis Bay in Namibia is an incredible place to explore. The lagoon is located 30km south of the town and is host to thousands of flamingos, among other birds. The pink of the flamingos contrast starkly with the white sand and blue water, creating a beautiful landscape. An official nature conservation area, the lagoon provides refuge for numerous bird species, from the threatened greater flamingo, to the cape teal, caspian tern, and African black oystercatcher. The vegetation encompasses the dry coastal area and marshes, creating the perfect environment for a myriad of wildlife. Boat tours are available allowing people to observe the stunning wildlife from a closer proximity. However, taking photographs from the boat can be challenging due to the movement. Still, a visit to the area is a must for wildlife and nature enthusiasts.
