Fjaðrárgljúfur is a beautiful, 100-meter-deep canyon, located near Kirkjubæjarklaustur, Iceland. It is a popular tourist attraction, offering breath-taking views of the river, which flows through its depth. The canyon is located in an area of highland plateau and is accompanied by steep cliffs and rock formations. During summer, small islands, formed by soft sedimentary rocks, can be seen from above. From the viewpoint of the canyon, it is possible to observe a range of wildlife. The area is full of different bird and wildlife species, including the white-tailed eagles and the ptarmigans.
