The Five Storied Pagoda, in Taito City, Japan, is a beautiful Japanese temple tower dating back to the 8th century. With five tiers of intricate red and green, this impressive monument stands at a towering height of 38 meters. It is the oldest existing wooden structure of its kind in the capital city, Tokyo, and one of the oldest in Japan. It is registered as an important cultural property and is popular amongst tourists and locals alike. The tower is unique in that it was built without using nails. Inside, visitors will find many God statues and Buddhist scriptures, as well as many other historic pieces. In 2020, the monument was refurbished to better preserve it for many years to come. Today, the Five Storied Pagoda can be found in Sensō-ji temple, one of Tokyo's most beloved attractions.
