Fisherman’s Bastion is a neo-Gothic and neo-Romanesque terrace overlooking the Danube in Budapest. Completed in 1902, it offers an iconic vantage point of the Parliament building and Pest skyline. Named after the medieval fishermen who once defended this stretch of city walls, it features seven turrets representing the founding Magyar tribes. Enjoy its fairy-tale arches at sunrise or sunset for magical light. Admission is free for most sections, with a small fee for the upper terraces. The site neighbors the striking Matthias Church, and nearby patios offer panoramic dining experiences. This landmark blends enchanting architecture with rich history and unmatched views.
