๐ Russia
The fields around Teriberka are not conventional farmland but open coastal tundra on the Kola Peninsula, where the Teriberka River meets the Barents Sea. Treeless ground, shaped by Arctic winds and a short growing season, spreads between granite outcrops, shallow wetlands and low grasses, mosses and shrubs. Their visual character changes sharply with the seasons: fresh greens under the long light of summer, rust and ochre tones in early autumn, and broad expanses of snow in winter. The sparse vegetation and uninterrupted horizon give photographs a strong sense of scale, especially when a lone road, utility pole or distant village building anchors the landscape.
