The Ferry Building in San Francisco, United States is an iconic landmark, located near the Embarcadero waterfront. It was formerly the city's main ferry terminal and is now home to bustling marketplace, shops and eateries. Built in 1898 and measuring 250 feet in length, the historic building is characterized by its four clock towers, ornate porcelain tile façade, and column-enclosed portico. Today, the building is home to numerous restaurants, vendors selling items ranging from fresh fruits and vegetables to specialty items, live music and the gourmet food emporium the Slanted Door. There is also a farmers' market which takes place located right outside the building. Other attractions include: walking tours, the Exploratorium, and food tours that showcase the area’s unique flavors.
