Favàritx Lighthouse is located on the Minorca Island of the Illes Balears archipelago, off the east coast of Spain. It is perched atop 107 metres tall cliffs of red limestone, with the Mediterranean Sea stretching out in all directions. It was commissioned in 1857 and is still in use, guiding ships sailing through the Balearic Sea to the safe reaches of the harbour. The lighthouse is open to the public and offers spectacular views of the island and the sea. It is also an excellent spot for wildlife admirers; many species of raptors, dolphins and other aquatic animals can be seen here. The lighthouse is located near the Favàritx Natural Park where visitors can enjoy a wealth of flora and fauna to explore.
