Faro de Cudillero is the only active lighthouse in the Asturias region of Spain. This working lighthouse provides panoramic views of the cliffs of the Bay of Biscay, as well as the small fishing village below. It is open to the public during the summer, providing visitors with the opportunity to climb the stairway up to the lantern room, from where photogenic vistas can be enjoyed. From the top of the lighthouse, there are stunning views to be admired of the coast, and it's an excellent spot for a relaxing picnic or for whale watching - if you are lucky. In the vicinity of the lighthouse is a park showcasing wild flowers and fauna, which makes for a pleasant wander, surrounded by lush greenery.
