Faraglione di Matermania is a solitary limestone sea stack off the eastern coast of Capri, within the Metropolitan City of Naples. Shaped by marine erosion from the island’s steep calcareous shoreline, it rises sharply from the Tyrrhenian Sea below the cliffs around Matermania. The stack is especially striking from the Pizzolungo coastal path, where pale, weathered rock contrasts with deep-blue water and dark Mediterranean vegetation; changing viewpoints along the trail reveal its separation from the coast and emphasize its scale.
