๐ From Glen Alpine Falls, United States
Fallen Leaf Lake lies just south of Lake Tahoe, near South Lake Tahoe, in a glacially shaped basin framed by Sierra Nevada forest and granite slopes. Glen Alpine Creek feeds the lake from the south, while its outflow reaches Lake Tahoe through Taylor Creek. The quieter, less urban shoreline provides a strong contrast with nearby Tahoe, with cabins and a small marina set among pines rather than a continuous band of development. From the eastern shore, photographs often look west across clear water toward the steep mass of Mount Tallac; shoreline boulders, forest reflections, and lingering snow on the higher ridges give the scene its recognizable layered depth.
