The Facade near the subway in Paris is an eye-catching creation. It was designed by Artist Ernest Pignon-Ernest in 1988 to draw attention to the changing face of Paris and the people of the city. The large mural is composed of black and white sketches of over 25 people from a variety of classes and occupations. The mural, located on the side of the wall near the Gaite Metro station, is estimated to be 26 feet tall and more than 60 feet wide. It presents a unique, one-of-a-kind aspect of Parisian life. A great look into the culture of the city, and one that is often overlooked by tourists. Be sure to keep your camera handy when passing the mural, as it offers a wonderful opportunity to capture some truly iconic Paris images.
