📍 From Burgstraße, Germany
The Evangelical Church of St. Peter rises in Wolgast’s historic center, its massive west tower forming one of the town’s defining landmarks. Built in the Brick Gothic tradition, the church reflects Wolgast’s medieval importance and its former role as a residence of the Dukes of Pomerania-Wolgast. The ducal crypt preserves this connection to the Pomeranian ruling house. Red-brick walls, pointed-arch windows, buttresses, and the broad tower create strong vertical lines and textured details, while views through the surrounding streets reveal how dramatically the church stands above the town’s lower roofs.
