📍 Spain
Estatua Camello is a giant camel sculpture located in the town of Agüimes, Spain. The sculpture was created by renowned Spanish sculptor Juan Borges in 1980 and is made of cast iron. Standing at a height of 13 meters, it is one of the most iconic landmarks of Agüimes and a popular photo spot for tourists. The camel represents the importance of camels in the history of the town, as they were once used as a means of transport for goods and people. The sculpture is situated in the Plaza de San Antonio, a charming square lined with traditional Canarian houses and cafes. Visitors can climb the steps to the top of the camel and take in the panoramic views of the town and its surroundings. The best time to photograph the Estatua Camello is during sunset, when the golden light creates a beautiful contrast against the deep blue sky.
