Estaing Castle

Estaing castle and pont d'Estaing in Estaing, France make an incredible photographic set. The fortress has managed to stay intact over the centuries after having survived for 100 years of siege during the Hundred Years War. Dating back to the 12th century, the fortress is a great example of an Occitan castle, featuring high walls and fortified towers. The nearby Pont d’Estaing bridge was built around 1750, with stone pillars still standing in the flowing waters of the Dourdou de Camarès River.
