Ermita de la Soledad is a Baroque-style hermitage situated in the city of Badajoz in southwestern Spain. The chapel dates back to 1785 and is renowned for its breathtakingly grandiose architecture and its spectacular mural paintings. It consists of a main façade, flanked by two bell towers and divided by an arch featuring an image of the Madonna and Child. Inside, the chapel is adorned with scenes from the life of Christ, including his death and resurrection. The chapel’s impressive altarpiece is flanked by two shrines and a wooden sculpture of St. James, the patron saint of Badajoz. The Ermita de la Soledad is a breathtaking example of late 18th century architecture and religious art.
