Engelbrektskyrkan is a late-19th-century neo-Gothic church located in Östermalm, a district in the city of Stockholm. It is also known as Engelbrekt Church after the 15th-century Swedish revolutionary leader Engelbrekt Engelbrektsson. It is one of the largest churches in Stockholm, with a capacity for more than 1,000 worshipers, and is historic in nature, having been built in 1872-1883. The exterior of the church is adorned with sculptures depicting events from the life of Engelbrekt, as well as with figures from the Bible. The interior features elements from the Italian Rococo era, including sculptures and paintings by 19th-century Swedish masters. Engelbrektskyrkan is a perfect spot to experience the beauty of Swedish culture and architecture. It is a popular place to visit among tourists and locals alike.
