Encontro das Águas and Praia de Carapebus are special attractions located in the northern coast of the Rio de Janeiro State in Brazil. You can find them in the city of Balneário de Carapebus. Encontro das Águas means “meeting of the waters,” and it is the place where the salty sea water and the fresh river water coming from the mountains meet and flow to the shore. It’s an amazing sight with blue and green colors that gives you a feeling of tranquility. Praia de Carapebus is a beach with a long coastline and calm waters, perfect for swimming. There is also a walking trail, perfect for a nice stroll as well as local restaurants, serving delicious dishes with fresh seafood.
