Emschertal Museum is located in Herne, Germany, on the site of a former ironworks. The museum preserves the history of iron and steel production in the Emscher Valley and the local culture. The historical main building houses an ironworks chronicle, various exhibits and documents of industrial heritage. With the help of multimedia stations and a film, visitors can delve into the history of the region. Outside, the park has various technical monuments, historical tanks and a steelworks railway. There also is a preserved, large waterwheel, which was built as an educational aid. The Emschertal Museum allows visitors to see and understand what the Emscher Valley and its surroundings used to be.
