Emerald Lake is a stunning collection of small, placid ponds in beautiful natural surroundings in Field, Canada. Located near the town of Field near Yoho National Park and Kicking Horse River, the area makes for a picturesque nature walk. The lake itself is surrounded by lush green meadows, exquisite wildflowers and lush forest foliage that creates a truly remarkable setting. It can be reached via short walk down a gravel path, starting at the Takkakaw Falls parking lot. A wooden observation deck is also available, providing amazing views of the lake, the surrounding mountain peaks and the surrounding mountain meadows. There are plenty of opportunities to spot a variety of wildlife in the area, including beavers, elk and bears. The lake and its surroundings are truly a photographer's paradise. Remember to pack water and snacks, as well as sturdy shoes, for the gravel trails.
